Between adjusting to semi post pandemic summer activities, Mickey's continued furtherance of scholastic studies, and Tristan essentially moving to the beach to teach surfing to unsuspecting passers by despite barely being able to swim himself, it's been a while since we were able to get an episode finished. After so long of not being able to record together Mick and Tristan spend time catching up on their newly hermetic life styles. Mick is drinking a lot more tea and Tristan mostly just wants to play with Pete The Cat.

As we transition firmly into Autumn, Tristan fills more and more with existential dread as the onset of winter approaches. However he does get to show off more of his sweaters. Mickey has elected to take a brief sabbatical from drinking in hopes of living his best life and having a shinier beard. You can't see because it's a podcast but it is absolutely working, oh wow.

In this episode Tristan and Mick ponder yet again the coming Nickleback reckoning that all Canadians must one day endure. Mickey reminisces on the good old days of the east coast house scene in the 80s while Tristan tries to preemptively prevent Drake from suing us. Not today Drake!

Meanwhile Tristan has recently discovered vitamins and supplements so it's a bit of a sliding scale for self betterment.

Even as media attention moves on to other topics as it invetibley always does, its important to acknowledge that these protests and the advocates helping organize them are absolutely not going away until some real changes happen.

The turnaround time between recording, editing, and posting our episodes is not super fast, which is kind of the way we like it. As such, this episode was recorded before the racist murder of George Floyd sparked protests confronting police brutality and systemic racism around the globe, which is why there is no discussion of it.

Tristan discusses his various Star Wars themed socks while Mickey has some slightly more intimate swag that none of us saw coming. We try to figure out the difference between internet rap and Soundcloud rap but don't make much progress.

As we adjust to our new isolated reality we've endeavoured to not make the show entirely Covid related, but we do check in with Tristan and Mick to see how things have shaken out for them (hint- both unemployed).

Ok Team welcome to EP41 of BORP! We usually record about two weeks before each episode goes live. It's often a bit odd to write about things that we're going down two weeks in the past but it's never that much of a big deal. Of course in the last two weeks the world has been irrevocably changed, to the point where anything prior to the coronavirus breaking the world seems sadly irrelevant. On the flip side, after a week or so of being inundated like never before with one single unrelenting topic, hopefully it'll be a nice change to listen to something that's not related to our rehearsal for the end of the world.

G'day mates! Welcome to EP 40 of BORP! Good lord we've made it to 40 episodes, congratulations to you for sticking with us this far. It's a special one for us so worked hard for you- the listener- to make it a heckin' good one. Mick explains the economic values of a boxed wine diet while Tristan retreats into the 90s for yet another Fraiser reference- so off to a good start. For the beers (7:07) we both take a trip to New Westminster for inspiration. Tristan got his hands on the much coveted Blush Rose Saison by Steel & Oak where as Mick introduces us to an India Pale Kolsch by one of the newest, coolest breweries in the area, Another Beer Company.

When we are on point we discuss a wide range of interesting music and film, however the conversation does at a couple points devolve into discussing Mickey's beard. Again. Elsewhere Tristan goes on a rueful, weather related rant regarding his woefully inadequate garbage service. Don't Get him started! Lets dig in.
